Individual online therapy

In our individual clinical psychology sessions, you can expect a supportive and collaborative environment where your unique experiences and needs are at the centre of the process. My approach is person-centred, meaning we focus on understanding you as an individual, respecting your perspective, and tailoring our work to your goals. Sessions are guided by a formulation-driven approach, where we collaboratively explore the challenges you're facing and develop a personalised understanding of what may be contributing to them. This formulation allows us to create effective strategies and interventions that are designed to help you make meaningful progress and improve your well-being. Each session is an opportunity for you to reflect, gain insight, and work towards lasting positive change at your own pace.

Each therapy session typically lasts 50 minutes, providing dedicated time to explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Confidentiality is a key part of our work together, and everything shared in the session will remain private. However, there are important exceptions: if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, we are legally required to take appropriate action to ensure safety, which may include involving others, such as family members or emergency services. Rest assured, I will discuss any such situations with you openly to ensure you are informed and supported throughout the process.

Online therapy has proven to be an effective and convenient option for many people seeking mental health support. Research consistently shows that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy for treating a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship difficulties. The flexibility of online sessions makes therapy more accessible, especially for those with busy schedules, mobility issues, or living in remote areas. The digital format also allows for greater privacy and comfort, as clients can engage in therapy from the safety of their own home. While some individuals may initially feel uncertain about the virtual setting, studies have demonstrated that the therapeutic relationship and outcomes are often just as strong, with many clients reporting satisfaction and improvement in their mental health.
